About Us

VSA was founded by Paul T. Berry Jr, back in 1978 to fill a need in our community. At that time there were only a couple burglar alarm providers and no camera system providers to speak of. He built the company from scratch not using high-pressure sales tactics, but instead honesty and integrity. Maintaining an A+ with the BBB was always pretty easy for him to do. As a matter of fact, we have yet to receive a BBB complaint in over 40 years.

Paul T. Berry III “Pete” spent summers and every school break working for VSA from the time he turned 14. Starting at the bottom, in crawl spaces and attics, he worked his way through installations, sales, and finally management. Pete became President and CEO of the company in 2012 and Paul Berry Jr. officially retired. Delores Berry, Paul Berry Jr.’s wife, remains involved as the CFO today. Mike Lankford, Vice President, has been helping to grow VSA for over 30 years. He has seen countless changes in product, technology, and even application.

We are proud to be large enough and established enough that we are not going anywhere. But we are also small enough to know our customers. That is important. We have used the oldest, largest, and safest central station in Columbus for our entire existence. We buy trucks, wire, and equipment here locally. We hire locally and have never laid a single employee off. We have maintained a sustainable growth for 40 years.
